Are you digitally ready?

In 2032 the Olympic and Paralympic Games are coming to Brisbane. They will be here before we know it and it will impact on surrounding areas in an incredible way. For example, the Sunshine Coast is a Delivery Partner for the Games and will be home to four key venues and several sporting events. There is much to plan for with road, rail and air infrastructure to bring tourists and Olympic families to stay.
Forecast accommodation requirements are 6 or 7 new business hotels, 5 or 6 new leisure hotels and 5 new boutique hotels to service these visitors.
To compete with these potential newcomers, now's the time for existing accommodation providers to get 'match fit’ to be off the starting blocks nice and early and earn dollars from the influx.
Ask yourself these questions:
- Do you have an up-to-date website? If yes, take our quiz and see how you score.
- If yes, do you track your website analytics?
- Is your property bookable online?
- If yes:
- Can potential guests book your property through your own website as well as online travel agents such as booking.com and Expedia?
- Are you using triggered correspondence asking for valuable feedback from previous guests?
- Are you downloading your GIH and sending out EDMs and targeting these people through social media to entice them to return?
- Are you responding weekly to online reviews in a professional yet personal way?
- Are you posting to social media often according to a strategic content calendar?
- Do you have a $1 hot dog strategy?
