The gaps and drawbacks of ChatGPT

January 2024 ChatGPT

ChatGPT is well and truly here and the question now is, should we create content that someone (or something) else can? A recent article by Forbes Magazine sums this up perfectly.

We all need to benefit from understanding the various factors involved with ChatGPT before hitting 'publish' and sharing messages.

  • Is it worth writing text when AI can seemingly do it for you?
  • What gaps and drawbacks are there?

It can be glaringly obvious when someone publishes content direct from ChatGPT. It can be a little too descriptive, have over-the-top punctuation, or contain too many adjectives with dreamy catch phrases thrown around.

Picture this: a tranquil campsite nestled beneath the Southern Cross, surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature. Escape the hustle and bustle, and let the serenity of the great outdoors become your sanctuary. Adventure awaits, and your soul is craving it! Pack your bags, leave your worries behind, and let the journey be your destination.

There's no doubt that ChatGPT can increase productivity by creating content in nearly an instant, however, it can lack a certain level of depth and authenticity. We know that to engage with an audience, credibility is paramount. Audiences look for an authentic opinion, a trustworthy tone of voice and other anecdotes that help them relate and have confidence in the product. All of this can be easily missed by AI generated content.

At MOM, as we consider what to write, and how to write it, we evaluate how to leverage AI to increase efficiency in our writing process.

We use AI as a support system and then we put our personal and knowledgeable touch on the content we write and share.
