You can help our tourism industry by booking direct. The tourism industry has been greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and will need our support more than ever when it’s safe to travel again. Many of us have fond memories spent on Aussie holidays, from road trips across the country to camping and caravanning in holiday parks, there are so many fantastic places to visit right here in our beautiful country.

Booking accommodation direct, either through a website or via telephone, is likely to result in receiving the lowest price for your booking and at the same time supports the business owners. An outspoken advocate for this movement, entrepreneur Dick Smith, launched a campaign in 2018 urging consumers to avoid online travel agents.
When bookings are made through third party sites, owners are required to pay a commission of the total booking value (this can sometimes be as high as 20%!), something that during this time is income they cannot afford to lose. Booking direct helps businesses save much needed funds to keep their them running, employing local people and further contributing to the Australian economy.
Now, while restrictions are in place, is the best time to plan your next holiday. Why not check-out your favourite holiday park’s social posts and website? You might even want to book a holiday for later in the year and in doing so help our industry to get back on its feet! Be sure to book direct or give them a call – no doubt they will give you a great deal and appreciate your effort in these difficult times.
