Massey Online Management Destination Experts

How we travel Australia without leaving our office...

Every week the marketing team at Massey Online Management get to experience the best of Australia, without leaving the MOM office.

How, you may ask?

By stepping into a guest’s shoes, we become destination experts for each and every client we look after here at MOM. You could say we become ‘intimate’ with the park’s local attractions, from the “must do’s” to the hidden gems only a local would know about.

That’s where a little inside information never goes astray. So don’t be surprised if we ask you where the best place is for coffee and cake, or your favourite place for fish and chips, or even the best place to go fishing…

Why and how do we use this information?

Great question! The reason we become so well acquainted with the local area, is because guests want to know what there is to see and do. Remember, this is often a new and unfamiliar destination for them. Accurate and up-to-date local knowledge is a great way of adding value to their stay and building a great relationship.

Social media

Our client content calendars frequently include posts about local attractions and local businesses. We choose posts to share that will add value to your future guest’s stay and to help them discover all the great things to see and do that are within easy reach of your property.

We keep a close eye on your local, area and state tourism operators (RTO’s) for shareable content. Some are better at it than others! And we will also tag them where appropriate, in the hope that they will return the favour by sharing the content we create for you. Depending on the RTO this may happen regularly, or not at all.

We will also utilise the excellent content we have created on your website…

Website

The best way to share this specialised knowledge is on your website. We research local attractions and events, making sure our client’s websites are up-to-date with everything going on. This was especially important during the 2020 COVID closures, where most attractions closed and events were cancelled. Thankfully, things have resumed to a somewhat ‘new normal’, but we are always at the ready to update any local listings as soon as we are aware.

Not only does this benefit the guest, but it also helps bring traffic to your website. Each page on your website is an increased opportunity to be more visible to search engines. These ‘robots’ scan with world-wide-web frequently and just love new quality content, rewarding your website with a higher ranking. We provide “quality content” by sourcing official attraction and event information and paraphrasing it for your website, as the ‘bots’ don’t like copied content. And of course we will include a call to action for your future guests to browse their accommodation or camping options right from that valuable information page.

Newsletters

We highly recommend regular contact with your past guests, to keep you at the front of their mind. You might like to use your regular e-newsletter as an opportunity to remind guests all the things they can see and do when they come for another visit. These days, people are looking for a quick and scannable read, so we will link through to your website for more information.

Keep in mind that not everyone is on social media but everyone checks their email. EDMs are an extremely valuable part of your marketing mix.
